ARE YOU WOKING’S BEST BAKER? Enter Woking’s Own Bake-Off Competition on Sunday 7 September – part of Woking Food & Drink Festival If you think you can make the best sponge cake in the region, you won’t want to miss Woking’s Bake-Off – judged by someone who definitely knows a thing or two about baking, Great British Bake-off Winner 2013 Frances Quinn. Baking enthusiasts from the region are invited to bring their best sponge cake to ChristChurch (on Jubilee Square) from 1pm to 3pm on Sunday 7 September 2014. All entries will be judged on look, presentation and consistency. Frances said: “I’m extremely excited to be judging the Bake Off at Woking Food & Drink Festival. Baking is something that I’ve always been passionate about and I know many other people feel the same – so I can’t wait to see the entries. I’ll be looking for sponge cakes with a great consistency, fluffy, light and not too dense, and with fantastic overall presentation – basically a cake that just makes you want to take a huge bite!” The winning entry will be announced by Frances immediately after her last demonstration (starting at 4pm) – at 4.45pm.
