Whether you prefer to add them to sauces, sautéed on toast or with a comforting risotto, the strengths and subtleties of mushrooms have been championed in Italian cooking for centuries. From September through to . October, Carluccio’s will be celebrating the mushroom season with a special range of artisan deli products, pop-up markets and a menu enriched by treasures from Antonio’s book “The Quiet Hunt.”


Foraging for wild mushrooms was the late Antonio Carluccio’s passion, and a national pastime in Italy, and Carluccio’s has packaged up some delicious standout products including:
• Risotto con tartufi e porcini (£5.95) - An easy to make risotto with dried porcini and truffle pieces. You will only need butter and parmesan to create a creamy and rich risotto.

• Burro al tartufo (80g, £4.95) - Truffle butter with black summer truffle. Delicious with pasta, rice, polenta or potatoes. Spread on small pieces of crostini toast for a special antipasto.

• Olio al tartufo (55ml, £7.95) - Olive oil infused with white truffle. A few drops will bring dishes to life...

• Crema di porcini e tartufi (80g, £5.95) – A cream of porcini mushroom and truffle, ideal to stir through a long pasta such as pappardelle or use as a decadent crostini.

• NEW - Tritato di funghi e tartufi (80g, £5.95) - Coarsely ground mushrooms & truffle.

Perfect for instant crostini & wonderful topping for a steak.


A veritable treasure trove of funghi delights, Carluccio’s authentic mushroom markets will offer visitors the chance to graze upon a delectable selection of wild mushrooms and truffles along with street-food style dishes. Mushroom arancini will be served alongside freshly baked topped focaccia, Antonio’s recipe for mushroom strudels, home-made truffle butter and wild mushroom risotto with an option to garnish with freshly
grated truffle. (The dishes on sale may vary between locations.)
For those wanting to learn a bit more, Carluccio’s experts will also be on hand to teach visitors how to experiment with different varieties of mushroom and how to introduce new products to the kitchen store cupboard.

• Carluccio’s Hampstead (Sat 22nd September) - 32-34 Rosslyn Hill, Hampstead, London NW3 1NH. From 9am to 6pm. Wild mushrooms only

• Stratford Town Centre Food Festival (Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd September) - Stratford-upon-avon, Warwickshire, CV37 6EF. From 10am to 6pm. (5pm Sunday). Wild mushrooms & street food.

• Carluccio’s Windsor (Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th September) - 28 Windsor Royal Station, Windsor SL4 1PJ. From 9am until 6pm (5pm Sunday). Wild mushrooms & street food


There will also be specially curated mushroom specials on offer at your local Carluccio’s. Returning by popular demand is the Fonduta e funghi – a Piemontese classic featuring mushrooms, melted Taleggio cheese sauce and crisp pane carasau, or try the Pappardelle ai funghi – deliciously delicate pappardelle egg pasta with wild mushrooms.
